Audit Support in Dubai — questions we get asked
Do we legally need an audit?
It depends on your jurisdiction and size. Most free zones require audited accounts for licence renewal. For corporate tax, Ministerial Decision No. 84 of 2025 sets who must have audited financial statements, including taxable persons above AED 50 million revenue and qualifying free zone persons.
Are you our auditor?
No, and we cannot be. We prepare the file; an independent licensed audit firm signs the opinion. Doing both would compromise the independence the opinion depends on. We work alongside whichever auditor you appoint.
What does audit preparation cost?
It is priced on the state of the books, not on hours. Where a year needs rebuilding first, that is bookkeeping catch-up and we quote it separately so you can see which one you are paying for.
How far in advance should we start?
Ideally at year-end, not when the auditor calls. Reconciliations done in January for a December year-end take a fraction of the time they take in June from memory.
Can you deal with the auditor directly?
Yes, that is most of the value. Query lists come to us, we answer them from the working file, and your staff are not pulled off their jobs for three weeks.
What if the auditor finds a problem?
Better then than in an FTA audit. We work the adjustment through, and if it changes a filed tax position we tell you what the correction route is.
